Holy Guacamole...or It's Been a While.

Wow! It's been over a month since my last post! We've been super busy. And it's not slowing down anytime soon. We have huge things in the works right now. Next Monday we are doing a photo shoot with an amazing and wonderful photog friend of ours...we'll show you pics later. And June 15 we are doing a live floral installation at Art All Night- Trenton. We start at 4:30.

The Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market was a huge success and last week we had a really special event. We did the flowers for the wedding of our friends, Tom and Christina. Held at Sayen Gardens, and catered by Mt. View Catering, it was a great time!  Here are some shots, taken by Tracy Consolo and Nadia Trapani.

Greatest Bar of Greater Trenton

As I was researching for my TGIF series that I post on Fridays, I came across the annual 'The Greatest Bar of Greater Trenton' hosted by The Trentonian. Since this is my home town and they say its the 'restaurant capital' ( and I've been to probably every bar on the list) I wanted to share them with you.

   Today they released the 'Final Four ' which include:

ecommerce made easy

I’m back after a week off due to some technical difficulties. My computer crashed and I had to send it out for repairs. Luckily, my sis, Dana is awesome and filled in for me. Hopefully she’ll be a repeat contributor [fingers crossed].

So to kick off the new week, I want to tell you about this great website I discovered this weekend. Storenvy. It’s basically like etsy, in so much that it’s a marketplace for handmade, vintage, used items. But here’s why it’s better: It’s free! I like free. As a start-up business, my budget is almost non-existent. I haven’t used etsy as a sale platform for the reason of the fees involved plus the paypal fees. Storenvy also uses paypal so you can’t really avoid those fees, but every listing you make in your custom store is absolutely free!

Another great thing I love about it is that you actually get 2 stores. You get your custom store where you can put your logo, change the colors, completely personalize it, but you also get all your items posted in their “marketplace.” What this means is when people search for an item or category, your items will appear in the results which drives your sales. With your custom store, you can add your own domain and use it as your official webstore (for free!) I don’t know a ton about ecommerce, but what I do know is that it can get expensive. There are tons of sites out there that have templates and forms to guide you, but cost a fortune to host. Not storenvy. They also offer the ability to have sale items and BOGO deals for a small fee of $2-$5 per month, but for all percentage discounts like 50% off, it’s free.

Since all of our products are made to order, we rarely have a lot of inventory on hand, but I can guarantee you will soon find us there.

Another place you’ll be able to find our products is the upcoming Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market on May 26. We will be exhibiting more “everyday” type accessories and home décor like bow-ties for men and your four-legged friends, jewelry, kitchy items, and hand printed postcards, plus much more. We will also be bringing bouquet wraps and other wedding items so you can see our craftsmanship up close and place your special orders.

We have a lot to look forward to in the coming months and we hope you’ll stick around while we navigate this exciting new venture.

Saturday, we welcomed a new member into our family. My cousin, Lauren, was wed to her best friend, Joe.

 It was a lovely, intimate ceremony with close family. The night was hosted by Under The Moon Café, located in Bordentown City, NJ. This place is so cute and has so much personality. The tables and chairs are all mismatched and you eat the Argentinian fusion cuisine out of random dishes. I felt like I was eating at someone’s kitchen table, which I absolutely loved; so charming. Small weddings are always my favorite. I feel like the couple’s individuality really comes through in all the details. 

The Cheesecake

The food was exceptional, especially the crab bisque and the dulce de leche cheesecake.  Let me just tell you, if you are ever in the Bordentown area, go get the cheesecake. It is made on the premises and I swear you won’t regret it. Amazing. For dinner, guests had a choice of vodka rigatoni with chicken, zuppa de pesce, or pork osso buco. I had the zuppa but everything looked delicious.

Sunday was the first ever Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market. My husband and I went to check it out and had a great time. There were so many unique handmade and vintage finds along with vinyl. Lots of it. I ended up getting a cute Pantone coin purse and the guy selling them gave me a free little notepad with graph paper inside…which I was pleasantly surprised with since I love writing on graph paper.  And some comfy, broken-in Doc Marten boots.

But what I really want to talk about is the cupcake! Those of you who know me, know I love baked goods. I don’t like baking, but the eating part is fun. This little piece of chocolately heaven was made by Confections of a Rock $tar located in Asbury Park, NJ. The appropriately named, Rock n Roll cupcake was rich chocolate cake topped with fudgy buttercream frosting, packed in an adorable little pink box. As soon as I got home I looked up their website and let me tell you, they do amazing work! Go check them out, they take special orders.

Another thing I wanted to mention is Origami Owl Custom Jewelry. Michelle Lawlor of Lucky17 Photography sells these little gems. They are completely customizable and interchangeable. The lockets have a clear face that you fill with charms to suit your personality. I love these. They are the perfect bridesmaid gift! Click over to her site to see the complete line. 

All in all, it was a great weekend.
